Samyang’s second autofocus lens for Sony’s compact system cameras will be released in September. The manufacturer has announced all specifications, but it is not yet clear what the lens will cost. The 50 mm f/1.4 will be available in August for 630 euros.

The Samyang 14mm F2.8 ED AS IF UMC has an optical design consisting of fourteen lens elements in ten groups. Three aspherical elements have been used to minimize image errors. The minimum focusing distance is 20cm. The lens is 97.5mm long and has a maximum diameter of 85.5mm. Regular threaded filters cannot be used because the ultra-wide angle has an integrated lens hood. The 14 mm f/2.8 weighs 505 grams.

Samyang introduced its first autofocus lenses in early May. At the time, not all specifications and prices were known. Last week, Samyang importer Transcontinenta announced that the 50 mm f/1.4 will be available from August for a suggested retail price of 630 euros. Both lenses are suitable for Sony’s compact system cameras. They work on the A7 models with full-frame sensor, as well as on cameras such as the A6300 and A5100, with aps-c sensor.
