The Canon version of the Samyang XP 10mm f/3.5 lens will be on sale in the Benelux from March for 1,149 euros. A variant for Nikon DSLRs follows a few months later. The wide-angle lens is suitable for full-frame cameras.

Samyang has constructed the XP 10mm f/3.5 lens from eighteen lens elements in eleven groups. Among them are seven special optical lens parts, such as aspherical elements and extra-low dispersion lens elements. That should minimize image errors.

The 10mm f/3.5 manual focus lens has a metal body. Samyang promises high image quality. According to the manufacturer, the lens is particularly suitable for SLR cameras with a very high resolution.

With a focal length of 10mm and an angle of view of 130 degrees, the Samyang lens is the most extreme rectilinear ultra-wide angle lens released to date. Many lenses with a similar or lower focal length are fisheye lenses. There were already some 11mm lenses, including the Irix 11mm f/4 and the Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L.
