Samsung will release monitor with built-in webcam for 289 euros at the end of September

Samsung has announced the Webcam Monitor S4, a 24″ monitor with built-in webcam, speakers and microphone. The webcam consists of a 2-megapixel camera and infrared camera. The monitor should cost 289 euros and will be on sale at the end of September.

The Samsung Webcam Monitor S4 has a 24″ IPS panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16 by 9, with a brightness of 250cd/m². The refresh rate is a maximum of 75Hz and the viewing angle is 178 degrees. The monitor is equipped with of built-in front-facing 2W stereo speakers and a microphone, and includes a microphone and headphone jack, an HDMI 1.4 port, a D-sub port, a DisplayPort 1.4 interface and two USB 3.0 ports that function as a USB hub .

The 2-megapixel webcam on top of the display can not only be used for video calling, but thanks to the infrared sensor also works with Windows Hello, where a computer can be unlocked with the webcam. The webcam is not always visible. This slides into the housing of the screen when not in use. The webcam can be clicked in and out with your finger.
