Samsung unveils new version of The Frame television with HDR10+
Samsung has announced a new version of The Frame TV. The new model of the television with a picture frame includes support for HDR10 +; the previous version had to make do with a mode that only simulated an HDR experience.
In addition to the addition of Samsung’s own HDR10+ with dynamic metadata, the new Frame TV allows users to transfer their WiFi data and Samsung account information from their smartphone to the TV via Bluetooth low energy, without having to enter passwords again. There is also support for Bixby, so that the television and any connected smart home devices can be controlled with voice commands.
The new version of the television, like the 2017 edition, will come in a 55-inch and 65-inch model, which will go on sale in the United States later this month for 1999 and $2799 respectively. When sales in Europe and the Benelux will start and what the euro prices are, is still unknown. Samsung started selling the Frame TVs from 2017 in June last year, with the 55″ version costing 2399 euros and the 65″ TV a price tag of 3199 euros. A 43″ version was also released.
The Frame is the name of Samsung UHD TVs with interchangeable frames that can display a multitude of different artworks when not showing a moving image. In addition, your own images can also be displayed and there are sensors to automatically adjust the brightness based on the ambient light, among other things. According to Samsung, the new model is equipped with more than 800 different works of art.
