Unpacked would according to The Elec will take place for the first time in 2024 in San Jose, California, where the head offices of Apple and Google, among others, are located. The date of January 17 has previously been mentioned in rumors.
The event date of January 17 means that Samsung is bringing forward its release event by a few weeks compared to previous years. The Samsung Unpacked event of the Galaxy S23 series took place on February 1 this year and the Galaxy S22 series was unveiled on February 9, 2022.
Samsung previously teased one of the upcoming features of the Galaxy S24. The AI Live Translate Call feature will be introduced in the S24 series, according to The Elec. The feature allows the smartphones to translate text and audio in real time during a phone call. Samsung is reportedly planning to sell 10 percent more S24 devices than the S23 series. The Korean company would count on 35 million copies sold.
There have been quite a few rumors going around in recent months about the possible specifications and features of the S24 line-up. For example, Samsung is planning to integrate its own locally running AI into its smartphones. In addition, the Galaxy S24 Ultra would have a titanium casing, just like Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models this year. The Ultra edition would further be equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor for its 3x zoom camera.
