Samsung smart TVs will be able to show movies and TV shows from iTunes after an update this spring. This is possible through a collaboration between Samsung and Apple. With the move, Apple may want to run its upcoming streaming service on more devices.

The update also adds support for Apple’s streaming protocol AirPlay 2 to TVs, Samsung reports. iTunes footage will be available in 100 countries, AirPlay 2 will work in 190 countries, the TV manufacturer said. The features will work on 2018 and 2019 TV models. Previous Samsung TVs will not have support.

Support for iTunes and AirPlay coincides with rumors of an upcoming streaming service for movies and series. The iPhone manufacturer has been producing shows for a while that can only be seen on its own platforms, like streaming service Netflix does. Apple already has a music streaming service, Apple Music. That is one of the few Apple services that also works on the competing Android.
