Samsung to announce unknown Galaxy device on October 11
Samsung will announce a new Galaxy device on October 11. The invitation of the announcement contains few details of the device. There are also few rumors about what Samsung would like to present.
The invitation includes the text ‘4x fun’ in a teal font. That text could refer to the number of cameras on the back of the device. A recent rumor pointed out that Samsung is working on a smartphone with four cameras on the back.
This is not necessarily a high-end device. Samsung CEO DJ Koh said in an interview with CNBC earlier this month that from now on it will also put innovative elements on midrange Galaxy A devices. The first of these would appear this year. The green-blue color is also reminiscent of the color scheme of one of the standard wallpapers from Galaxy A phones.
It is unknown what Samsung would like to use the four cameras for. The manufacturer has used the dual camera for two applications so far. On high-end models, it is a camera with different focal length for zoom. The secondary camera on some midrange models is only for estimating depth for blurring the background of photos.
It seems unlikely that it will be the bendable smartphone to be announced. The invitation does not seem to refer to that and Samsung itself said it would only share details about that smartphone from November.
