Samsung will stop with the Galaxy J series of entry-level smartphones and let the line merge with the Galaxy A series. The manufacturer does not mention a reason for the deletion of the J-naming, but the company is probably trying to simplify its offer.

Samsung confirms to stop with the Galaxy J in a video that the Malaysian division of the company publishes online, XDA Developers noted. “Galaxy J, which you loved, is now the new Galaxy A,” the company reports, referring to its new Galaxy A30 and A50 smartphones.

Until now, the Galaxy J was Samsung’s line for entry-level smartphones and the Galaxy A was the series for midrange models. The cheapest recent smartphone that Samsung has quietly released in the latter line is the Galaxy A40 with 64GB storage, two cameras on the back and a 5.9″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2220×1080 pixels. The suggested retail price is 250 euros. International. the cheaper A30 also appeared, but it has not yet been announced for the Benelux market.

The J6+ is the most recent model in the Galaxy J series. This is a smartphone with 32GB of storage, a single camera and a 6″ LCD with a resolution of 1480×720 pixels. The suggested retail price at its release in September last year was 239 euros.
