Samsung smart TVs will offer users personalized music
Samsung will bring a music service to its smart TVs next year that will showcase a personalized music selection from eight different apps including Spotify and Deezer. Samsung is working on more personalized TV services.
The ‘Music’ service that Samsung is bringing to its smart TV platform uses the offerings of Spotify, iHeartRadio, Napster, Deezer, Sirius XM, Vevo, Melon and Bugs for its suggestions. Users can find the selection in the Preview section of Smart Hub. In addition, the service allows users to search for songs and identify music to be heard on broadcasts. The company will announce how this works during CES in early January. Music comes to users in France and Germany, among others, but not yet to those in the Benelux.
Samsung is bringing more personalized services to its Smart Hub platform. For example, the ‘Sports’ interface will show users information about the times of matches, results and the channels where sports events are broadcast. In addition, Samsung will bring the TV Plus service to Europe in April 2017. TV Plus allows users to choose video-on-demand channels based on a smart electronic program guide. They no longer have to use apps for streaming films, videos and programs. Samsung is partnering with Fandango and Rakuten in Europe for the offering.
