Samsung shows Galaxy XCover FieldPro phone with removable 4500mAh battery
With the FieldPro, Samsung has shown a new sturdy smartphone in the Galaxy XCover series. This phone will have a 5.1″ screen and an Exynos 9810 chipset. The FieldPro has Android Oreo as standard, but in the future it should get an upgrade to version 10.
Samsung writes that the Galaxy XCover FieldPro has been developed with ‘use in harsh conditions’ in mind. Therefore, for example, the phone is MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certified. This means that the phone must be able to survive a fall of 1.5 meters and withstand a depth of 1.5 meters underwater for half an hour. Other notable features include an adjustable emergency button and physical navigation buttons to facilitate the use of gloves.
The FieldPro measures 158.5×80.7×14.2mm and has a 5.1″ screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The internal storage is 64GB, the memory is 4GB and the phone has support for micro-SD cards up to 512GB. The removable battery has a capacity of 4500mAh. The FieldPro comes with two batteries. As a soc, the FieldPro has an Exynos 9810, an octacore with a maximum speed of 2.7GHz. The phone has a 12-megapixel camera on the back and on the front is a camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels.The phone can be charged with USB-C or with pogo pins and has a 3.5mm port.
The phone is for sale in the United States from April 14 for the converted, with VAT 1231 euros. It is not known whether the Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro will also come to the Benelux.
