Samsung releases three new curved gaming monitors
Samsung will soon release three curved monitors with which the South Korean company focuses on gamers. The 24- and 27-inch models fall under the CFG70 series and the 34-inch model under CF791. Samsung will show the monitors on September 1 at the IFA in Berlin.
In addition to the curved screen, quantum dots have also been used in the panels, which should ensure a clearer image and a larger color spectrum. Samsung itself reports that every monitor is calibrated before it leaves the factory.
The C24FG70 and C27G70 displays announced earlier this month have a curvature equivalent to a 1.80m radius and respond at 1ms with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. The ratio of the 34″ screen is 21:9. In addition, the integrated LED lighting on the back and bottom reacts to sound from games. The arm has several joints and can be adjusted in different directions. The 24-inch variant with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels supports AMD’s FreeSync; the 27-inch version supports Nvidia’s G-Sync with presumably a resolution of 1440p.
The previously unseen CF791 has a curvature of 1500R which is equivalent to a full circle with a radius of 1.50m and has a maximum refresh rate of 100Hz. The CF791 also supports AMD’s FreeSync. The monitor can also be adjusted in different ways in both the vertical and horizontal plane.
Only the price of the 24-inch variant is known: 449 euros and it will be released in October. It is not yet known when the other two monitors will become available and what they will cost. It is the second line of curved monitors that the company is launching. Samsung released its first set of curved monitors earlier this year.
