Samsung releases Android 6.0 update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
Samsung will distribute the update with Android 6.0 Marshmallow from Monday for its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. There has been a test version for several months and the update has already appeared in various countries in recent weeks.
Samsung says that the update for other devices will follow soon, but first it is the turn of the S6 and S6 Edge. With this, the manufacturer comes with an update for the S6 before it presents the successor. Samsung is likely to show the S7 and S7 Edge next Sunday at its own event prior to the Mobile World Congress telecom fair in Barcelona.
The update comes a few months after Google began distributing Android 6.0 via the Nexus 6p and 5x. This was followed by some new devices from manufacturers, such as the One A9 from HTC. The Taiwanese manufacturer has now also provided its One M8 with an update worldwide.
It is unknown which devices Samsung will provide with Android 6.0, but it is obvious that the Note 5, Note 4, S6 Edge+, S5 and S5 Neo will be on the list. Samsung will announce the exact release dates of updates for other devices at a later date.
