Samsung provides successor to Galaxy A22 5G with Snapdragon soc
Samsung will provide the successor to the Galaxy A22 5G with a Qualcomm Snapdragon soc, instead of a MediaTek Dimensity soc. Samsung put the A23 5G on its own site on Monday, after weeks of rumors about the upcoming phone.
The specs on the Samsung’s website only mention octacore soc but samsung fansite SamMobile knows that it is a Snapdragon 695 from Qualcomm. The A22 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 700. The Snapdragon 695 has Arm Cortex A78 cores at 2.2GHz, while the processor performance of the Dimensity 700 should come from Cortex A76 cores. Other soc elements such as gpu and modem also differ.
Compared to its predecessor, the A23 5G is slightly less long and heavy, but slightly wider. A macro camera has also been added on the back and there are now three cameras under each other, instead of the cameras being in a square.
The A22 5G came out last summer for 229 euros. It is unknown if, when and at what price the A23 5G will be released. There was a rumor that the price would be around 300 euros, but that seems unlikely, as the phone will then compete with other models from the Galaxy A line and the gap with the A13, which costs around 155 euros, then would be big.
