Samsung presents laptop with 5g and Tiger Lake processor
Samsung has presented its first laptop with Intel Tiger Lake processor. The laptop should be distinguished by support for 5g networks below 6GHz. The laptop falls under the Intel Evo program, the name for what was previously called Project Athena.
The Galaxy Book Flex 5G is a 2-in-1 with a touchscreen and a hinge that can rotate the screen completely, Samsung reports. It is a 13.3 “screen, presumably an LCD with 1920 × 1080 pixels. You can also write on that screen with an included S-Pen, the same stylus as that also works on the Galaxy Note phones and Galaxy Tab S7. tablets.
To set up a wireless internet connection, the laptop has 4g and WiFi 6 on board in addition to 5g. The laptop also has Bluetooth 5.1 on board. The processor is an Intel Core i5 or i7 from the Tiger Lake series, presented on Wednesday evening. Samsung adds up to 16GB of lpddr4x memory, while customers can get a maximum of 512GB NVMe SSD.
In terms of connections, there is a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI connection, 3.5 mm jack, micro SD slot and SIM slot. A fingerprint scanner is available for security. The battery has a capacity of 69.7Wh.
The laptop measures 30.5×20.2cm and is up to 14.9mm thick with a weight of 1.26kg. It is not yet known when the Galaxy Book Flex 5G will be released and at what price. Samsung often does not release its laptops in the Benelux.
