‘Samsung phones can open Snapchat camera without unlocking’

Samsung phone users can start opening the Snapchat camera without having to unlock their phone first. This is evident from code in a test version of the Snapchat app. That is not yet possible.

Many phones allow you to use the camera without unlocking the phone, but using apps is often only possible after unlocking. Snapchat’s camera can be placed as a shortcut on the left and right side of the lock screen, according to the code which Android Authority reviewed.

It was previously rumored that Samsung would make it possible to use Instagram’s camera as a shortcut on the lock screen. Phones from OPPO and OnePlus can already use the Snapchat camera from the lockscreen, but this is not yet possible with Samsung. The code can be found in version Snapchat v12.62.0.36 Beta.
