‘Samsung, Motorola and LG show smartwatches during Google I/O’
Rumor has it that Samsung, Motorola and LG are planning to show their smartwatches with the Android Wear operating system at Google I/O. Samsung’s model would resemble the previously released Gear smartwatches.
That’s what sources tell Cnet. It is already known from LG that it will soon release its G Watch, a smartwatch with Android Wear about which the company has released little information for the time being. Motorola has already indicated to come with the 360, a smartwatch with a round screen. It is not known which models the manufacturers want to show during Google I/O; it is therefore possible that unannounced smartwatches appear on the scene in addition to the well-known models.
No information has been released about Samsung’s smartwatch yet, although the company has confirmed that it is working on a smartwatch with the Android Wear operating system. According to Cnet sources, the company is working on two versions: one with its own Exynos chip and a variant with a Qualcomm soc. In addition, the smartwatch would resemble the previously released models in the Gear series, which were released with the Tizen operating system.
If the information is correct, at least three smartwatch models with Android Wear will be demonstrated during Google I/O. Given the rumors, it is likely that the devices will be in stores shortly after the developer conference. Google I/O will be held on June 25 and 26.
