Samsung makes public beta for One UI 5 available in Germany, US and Korea
Samsung has released a public beta for One UI 5 in Germany, the United States and South Korea. The beta is only coming to Galaxy S22 devices for now and includes some new features such as more color options, stackable widgets and a security dashboard.
Samsung has the new features of One UI 5 in a blog post summed up. It states that users will see more color options to further customize the interface. It will also be possible to place widgets of the same size on top of each other, after which you can scroll through the stack.
Samsung has also made it possible in One UI 5 to block notifications from apps more easily. The settings menu for sound and vibration of the phone has been overhauled and One UI 5 users can now set a different language per app. When the camera app is opened there will be a new icon for the Pro mode, as well as for the Pro Video mode. Zooming should be easier from now on because the zoom bar in the camera app has been made more sensitive.
There will also be a new dashboard that will show security notifications, as well as measures that can be taken in case this is necessary. Samsung is also introducing new accessibility features such as a magnifying glass function and voice guidance when navigating.
The open beta is currently only being released for Galaxy S22 devices in Germany, the United States and South Korea. According to the company, users from other continents will be next in a few months. Last month, telecom journalist Max Weinbach shared new screenshots of One UI 5. This shows, among other things, that the South Korean company is working on new gestures for the use of multitasking and that notifications get new and larger icons.
