Samsung introduces A52s 5G with faster Snapdragon 778G-soc for 449 euros

Samsung introduces the Galaxy A52s 5G as the successor to the A52 series. The new model has a more powerful soc, namely the Snapdragon 778G instead of the Snapdragon 720G or 750G of the A52 phones. The A52s will be for sale from September 3 from 449 euros.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G has four fast Cortex A78 cores and four frugal Cortex A55 cores. With the Galaxy A52s 5G, those four fast cores have a clock speed of up to 2.4 GHz, Samsung says. The four economical cores are clocked at 1.8GHz. The Galaxy A52 and A52 5G had two powerful cores and six economical A55 cores, with those two powerful cores being slower than the four powerful cores from the A52s 5G.

Further specifications are the same as the A52 5G model. The A52s therefore has a 6.5-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen has a hole at the top for the 32-megapixel front camera.

On the back there are four cameras. It is a primary camera with a 64-megapixel sensor, an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 12-megapixel sensor and in addition there are two 5-megapixel sensors for the macro and depth camera. The battery has a capacity of 4500mAh and can be charged with 25W. The A52s 5G is IP67 certified.

For 449 euros, buyers get 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage. There is also a more expensive variant available for 509 euros, with 8GB memory and 256GB storage. The Galaxy A52s 5G is available in white, black, purple and mint green.
