Samsung gives its Xcover Pro smartphone updates and upgrades for four years. That has been announced by the manufacturer. For other phones, the manufacturer guarantees updates for two or three years. The Xcover Pro is only available for the business market.

Samsung will sell the Xcover Pro for two years, the company says. The manufacturer reports that it will continue to provide security updates and firmware upgrades for the device for four long, although that period seems to start at release.

The manufacturer announced the sturdy smartphone with removable battery last week. The battery has a capacity of 4050mAh. The phone measures 165.2×76.5×9.9mm. The housing has an IP69 certification and has therefore been tested by directing a jet of water at various angles at the housing from a few meters. It is also dustproof and shock resistant.

The phone has an LCD of 146x63mm, with an area of ​​95 square centimeters and a diagonal of 6.3″. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the resolution is 2400×1080 pixels. The screen has a glove mode for outdoor use. Samsung is putting its own Exynos 9611 soc in the phone, with four Cortex A73 cores at 2.3GHz and four Cortex A53 cores at 1.7GHz, assisted by an ARM Mali G72MP3 GPU.Samsung produces the soc at 10nm.The manufacturer puts 4GB of memory in it. and 64GB of storage.

The smartphone comes with Android 9, as an Enterprise Edition. In addition to the Xcover Pro, the Xcover 4s is also available as an Enterprise Edition. Also included are the Galaxy S10e, S9 and A8 in the Enterprise program. Therefore, the phone is push-to-talk ready and Knox allows administrators to manage users’ phones. The device should cost 509 euros.
