Samsung is providing its midrange smartphone Galaxy A50 with monthly security updates for the time being. This makes it the only Samsung smartphone in the A series with monthly updates, because the rest of the models receive an update every quarter.

Samsung has added the A50, together with the Xcover 4s and Fold, to the list of devices with monthly updates, Android Police reports. That list also includes all high-end models such as smartphones from the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series of recent years. The Galaxy A5 from 2017 and A8 from 2018 also receive monthly updates.

The addition to the list seems to indicate that the Galaxy A50 is the most successful midrange device from Samsung this year. An analyst previously claimed that the A50 was the most supplied smartphone in Europe in the spring. Samsung also removed devices from the list: the Galaxy A5 and A3 from 2016 have now disappeared from the list. They appeared in early 2016. Other devices from that year, such as the Galaxy S6 and Note 5, disappeared from the list earlier.

Samsung also announced its expectations for the quarterly figures on Tuesday. According to Bloomberg, the manufacturer benefits from strong smartphone deliveries, especially from the Note 10. Partly because there is a 5G version, the phone would exceed analysts’ expectations.
