Oculus has added Chromecast support to the Samsung Gear VR glasses. Users can show the image on the TV in the virtual reality environment with a cast button. That should make the VR experience more social.

The functionality is in the most recent version of the Oculus app for Android, says the VR company. It is the first time that the VR headset from Samsung will receive support for Chromecast. It is unknown whether Oculus is working on other ways of streaming images from the VR headset.

Samsung has been selling the Gear VR for two years now and the VR headset has received some important updates this year. For example, there was an update a few months ago that made better graphics possible and halved the boot time. Samsung also released a controller for its VR headset.
