New information about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has surfaced online. It concerns marketing material from the manufacturer, which contains properties about the S Pen and the camera. Telecom journalist Roland Quandt also reports the prices in British pounds.

Quandt published the images and information in an article on WinFuture.de. He is known for putting details of new smartphones online before they are announced. This time it is a series of marketing images, showing the most important features of the Galaxy Note 9.

The images show the new S Pen with bluetooth. The button on the stylus can be used to take a photo and control presentations. Users can probably give the button a function themselves, because Samsung mentions the operation of apps as a possibility.

Furthermore, the camera would have ‘intelligent’ functions and recognize what users put on the photo. Based on this, the photo should be automatically optimized. Like the S9 devices, the Note 9 has a lens with a variable aperture. There is a setting of f/1.5 and a setting of f/2.4. In low light, the large aperture is used, if there is enough light, the aperture is made smaller, which in theory can increase the sharpness. The Note 9 gets the same dual camera as the S9+, with two 12-megapixel sensors.

In addition, it is possible to use the Note 9 in DeX mode in combination with an external screen, without the need for a dock. The phone switches to a desktop view when used with a monitor.

According to Quandt, the device contains the Exynos 9810-soc that previously appeared in the Galaxy S9 models. The battery would have a capacity of 4000mAh, a significant increase compared to the Note 8, which was equipped with a 3300mAh battery. The thickness of the device has increased slightly to 8.8mm and the weight is also slightly higher at 201 grams. With the Note 8, that was respectively 8.6 mm and 195 grams.

According to the information, three color variants of the Note 9 will be available in most countries: black, blue and copper. The cheapest variant has 128GB of storage and the most expensive model has 512GB. There would be no other variants.

Quandt reports that in the UK prices will be £899 and £1099. Converted that is about 1006 and 1229 euros. This may translate into suggested retail prices of 999 and 1199 euros in the Benelux. The introduction price of the base model is therefore equal to that of the Note 8 last year. That device had 64GB of flash storage and also cost 999 euros. Samsung did not release a variant of the Note 8 in the Benelux with more memory.

The official introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will take place on Thursday. The devices would actually be delivered around August 24.
