Specifications of the upcoming Galaxy Buds Live earplugs from Samsung have appeared. The wireless earplugs have a bean-shaped design and offer, among other things, active noise canceling. The earplugs would cost about 190 euros.

The information is shared by German tech site WinFuture, which also shared details about the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra smartphones earlier this week. Rumors have been circulating about this Galaxy Buds Live for some time, although no concrete specifications were known yet. It was expected that the earplugs would receive active noise canceling, which seems to have been confirmed by the WinFuture information.

The earplugs are internally known at Samsung as the ‘Bean’ earplugs, according to WinFuture, due to the shape of the earplugs. According to WinFuture, Samsung designed the Galaxy Buds Light in this way, because such a design should ‘fill the ears of users better’. Samsung supplies rubber attachments in three different sizes.

The earplugs each receive a 12mm driver from AKG and have two integrated internal and external microphones. The earplugs weigh 5.6 grams each. The batteries in the earplugs should last 7.5 hours without noise canceling, WinFuture writes. To achieve that battery life, the so-called Always on Microphone must be switched off. This is used to perform voice commands via Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant. If noise-scanning and this microphone are used, the battery life according to WinFuture drops to 5.5 hours for music playback and to 4.5 in combination with active noise-scanning.

The earplugs come in a square housing with rounded corners. This also functions as a charger. In total, the earplugs should last for a maximum of 28 hours, if the earplugs are charged several times in the meantime. The included case can be charged wirelessly via the qi standard, but also has a USB-C connection.

WinFuture writes that Samsung is likely to release the Galaxy Buds Live along with the upcoming Note 20 smartphones. Those phones are expected to be announced in August. The German tech site reports that the wireless earplugs will cost around 190 euros according to ‘dealer information’, although this may vary per country.
