Samsung Family Hub refrigerator can show image from Google Nest camera
Samsung is making its SmartThings platform for smart home applications work better with Google Nest. One of the options will be to show Nest camera images on Samsung TVs or the Family Hub refrigerator.
The expansion of support means, for example, that SmartThings users can integrate Google Nest devices into the routines they have set in the app, such as activating a Nest thermostat or camera.
They can also use voice commands or the SmartThings app to control the Nest devices. Samsung also cites the streaming of Nest camera images on a Samsung TV or Family Hub refrigerator as further examples.
The Korean company has a Works With SmartThings certification program for third-party devices that work with SmartThings. Google Nest devices will now also receive that WWST designation. According to Samsung, there are more than 180 certified brands for SmartThings and it has more than 63 million active users.
