Samsung is developing large AMOLED screens for laptops that can fold and open up new possibilities for laptops. Samsung’s PC division vice president of marketing has announced this.

Samsung is working with screen manufacturers to develop bendable amoled panels for laptops, Samsung’s Lee Min-cheol said, according to the Korea Herald. According to him, the flexible screens do not only allow for folding and unfolding, but also offer new possibilities. He did not clarify what options Samsung was thinking of.

The Samsung employee made his statements at the Korean announcement of a new 13.3″ laptop called ‘Flash’. That laptop should distinguish itself with an Intel 802.11 ac 2X2 network card with a theoretical bandwidth of 1.7Gbit/s and with a striking design with round keys.Samsung hasn’t released PCs in the Benelux for years.

There are more manufacturers that seem to be working on laptops with curved screens. Lenovo showed a concept of such a device last year and is rumored to be working with LG on a 13-inch tablet that may serve as a 2-in-1 device.
