Samsung confirms arrival of foldable Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip
Samsung has confirmed the arrival of the new generation Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip. The new foldable smartphones will be officially announced on August 11 during the Unpacked event. Images of the two foldables leaked earlier.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 2 will be officially announced August 11, reports Tea Moon Roh of Samsung’s smartphone division. In a previous post, the announcement of Samsung’s third generation foldables was already hinted at, now it has been confirmed.
In the product announcement, Samsung gave no details about either foldable, except that it worked with Google to optimize more apps for the foldable format. For example, Google Duo, YouTube and Microsoft Teams now work better on the foldable phones. In addition, the new Fold and Flip will come with a specially developed new stylus, the S Pen.
A month ago, several images of the then-unannounced Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 2 leaked, as well as the official case with holder for the S Pen on Monday. It was rumored that the two would have a smaller battery than their predecessors. Samsung is also said to be working on a foldable with a double folding screen that should be released at the end of this year. It is not known whether it will also be announced during the Unpacked event. Samsung does report that no new Note smartphone will be announced during Unpacked. A new Galaxy Watch and new wireless earbuds are also likely to be unveiled at that event.
