Samsung has presented two metal smartphones for the Chinese market. The C5 and C7 mark the beginning of a new series of devices, with a design that the South Korean manufacturer has not used until now.

The C5 and C7 have a metal design reminiscent of that of the HTC One M7 and later Apple’s iPhone 6 series, with a full metal housing and antenna lines for receiving wireless signals. They aren’t Samsung’s first metal Android smartphones, but last year’s Galaxy A-series phones have a different look without antenna lines. The design differs from that of the Galaxy S7, among others, which has curves and a glass back.

The C5 has a 5.2″ OLED screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, while the C7 has a 5.7″ screen with the same resolution and type. The C5 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, the C7 has a new Snapdragon 625, which Qualcomm has made in Samsung’s factories with a 14nm process.

The C5 and C7 are currently only available in China. The C5 should currently cost about 300 euros, for the C7 Samsung will calculate around 350 euros.
