Samsung announces wireless earbuds and three new Galaxy wearables
Samsung has announced three new wearables: the Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e. In addition, the company releases the Galaxy Buds, these are wireless earphones with the personal assistant Bixby integrated.
The Galaxy Buds were co-developed by Samsung’s subsidiary AKG and have integrated two microphones. These are intended for voice control and commands using the Bixby assistant, so that users do not have to grab their smartphone for this. According to the company, the earbuds offer up to six hours of battery life during Bluetooth streaming and seven hours when calling. In the included holder, the earphones are sufficiently charged in fifteen minutes to last for 1.7 hours and in total the holder annex power bank can add seven hours of battery life. Samsung starts selling the Galaxy Buds on March 29 and then asks 150 euros for the accessory.
The Galaxy Watch Active is a sports-focused wearable that also includes a microphone for Bixby support. In addition, the Tizen-based OS works in conjunction with Android 5.0 or later or iOS 9.0 or later. The smartwatch has a 1.1″ always-on-type color screen with a resolution of 360×360 pixels. The processor is the Exynos 9110 dual-core and the wearable supports bluetooth 4.2, WiFi-n and wireless charging. Sales will start from March 15 for 250 euros.
With the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e, Samsung is also targeting sporty users. These are fitness wearables that can show notifications on the screen. The Galaxy Fit has a 0.95″ amoled screen, an MCU Cortex M33F and accelerometer and gyroscope. The Fit e has a 0.74″ amoled screen and only has to do with an accelerometer. In addition, the Fit has a battery capacity of 120mAh and the Fit e one of 70mAh. The Fit will also have a higher price tag with 100 euros, the Fit e will cost 40 euros. Both will be released in April.
