Samsung announces foldable smartphone on February 20

Samsung has confirmed that it will announce a foldable smartphone on February 20 at its own event. The manufacturer will probably also announce the new Galaxy S10 models. A few days later, the Mobile World Congress starts in Barcelona.

In a message on Twitter the South Korean manufacturer reports that “the future of mobile phones will unfold on February 20.” A short accompanying teaser video also shows images of text apparently sliding around a rounded corner of a screen, giving the impression that it is a mobile device with a folding screen.

The announcement will take place during its own Unpacked event. Samsung has not released any new details about the foldable smartphone, but the manufacturer already showed a prototype in November, which has a 4.6 “screen on the outside and a foldable 7.3” screen on the inside.

There was already a rumor a month ago that Samsung will announce its foldable smartphone on February 20 at its own event in London and San Francisco. The company is expected to show the new Galaxy S10 smartphones.
