Samsung has started supplying 750 Evo SSDs with a capacity of 500GB. The ssd uses tlc-nand memory. The 750 Evo was already available in a 120GB and a 250GB variant.

According to the manufacturer, the SSDs have a maximum read and write speed of up to 540MB/s and 520MB/s if Samsung’s own TurboWrite is used. As a controller, the drive uses the same as the 850 Evo 500GB SSDs, but in this case the 750 uses 256MB of dram cache instead of 500MB.

Another difference with the 850 Evo is that the 750 Evos use a different type of tlc nand, namely 16nm instead of 40nm 3d-v-nand. The larger ‘hole’ in the more expensive 3d-v-nand is because the memory cells are stacked instead of next to each other. The memory chips that Samsung puts in its 750-Evo series are 128Gbit TLCs.

Samsung gives a three-year warranty on the drives or the guarantee that 100 terabytes of writes have taken place on them. The SSDs change hands for $150. Euro prices are not yet known.
