Samsung announces 349 euro A42 5G smartphone with 5000mAh battery
Samsung has officially announced the A42 5G smartphone. It is a midrange smartphone with 5G support, a 6.6 “OLED screen and a battery with a capacity of 5000mAh. The phone will have a suggested retail price of 349 euros and will be released from the beginning of November.
Samsung does not mention the specific soc used for the A42 5G, but given the mentioned specifications such as two 2.2GHz running cores based on Arm’s Cortex-A77 design and six slower A55 cores at 1.8GHz, it most likely concerns the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G-soc. Just like the Snapdragon 765G, this has an X52 modem, with which there is mmWave support.
The A42 5G has an OLED screen with a diagonal of 6.6 “, dimensions of 15.3×6.9cm and an area of 105 square centimeters. The resolution of the screen is 2400×1080 pixels and there is a drop-shaped notch for the front camera. camera has a resolution of 20 megapixels and an aperture of f / 2.2.
On the back there are four camera lenses in a square arrangement, consisting of a 48-megapixel camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens with a resolution of 8 megapixels, a macro camera and a camera for measuring depth. The last two sensors each have a resolution of 5 megapixels.
The new smartphone has 4, 6 or 8 GB of ram, which depends on the region where the devices come from. There is also 128GB of storage space and room for a MicroSD memory card of up to 1TB to further expand the storage. The device measures 75.9×164.4×8.6mm and weighs 190g. The 5000mAh battery can be charged with a power of 15W and the fingerprint scanner is in the screen.
