Samsung 870 QVO SSD with 8TB appears online with a quoted price of $900

A page on Amazon’s American website shows unannounced Samsung SSDs. These are SSDs from the new Samsung 870 QVO line, of which an 8TB copy also seems to be available. According to the Amazon page, it costs $900.

Much information is still missing, but at least Samsung’s 870 QVO SSDs with a capacity of 1 and 8TB can be found on the Amazon website, which seem to cost 130 and 900 dollars respectively. The 1TB SSD should be available from June 30, while the 8TB copy should be available from August 24.

The 870 QVO SSDs are likely to come in 1, 2, 4 and 8TB models. With the predecessors, the Samsung 860 QVO SSDs, there were models of 1, 2, and 4TB. The 860 model from 4TB was introduced for 630 euros; an 8TB copy was still missing. The Samsung 870 QVO SSD with a storage capacity of 8TB will be converted and with VAT at about 963 euros.

These are 2.5″ SSDs for the consumer market. The Samsung QVO series consists of entry-level SSDs that, unlike EVO models, are not intended to offer the highest performance for consumers, but above all the lowest price per gigabyte.

Little concrete information is known, such as the type of memory. It will probably match the predecessor. The Samsung 860 QVO SSDs were made up of 4bit 3d-v-nand qlc memory, or quad level cell memory, where 4bit is stored in each cell. The 860 EVO SSDs have 3 bits per memory cell, which makes these models faster and somewhat more durable.
