Sales of Oculus Quest 2 have been temporarily halted due to complaints of skin irritation
Facebook is temporarily halting sales of the Oculus Quest 2 due to a problem with the foam face mask that is causing skin irritation for some customers. From August 24, the headset will be available again with a silicone cover and with 128GB of storage space as standard.
Starting August 24, the base versions of the Oculus Quest 2 headsets will ship with 128GB of storage instead of the current 64GB for the same price. In the box of the headset you will also find a silicone cover that comes over the foam rubber attachment that comes into contact with the face. That attachment caused according to Facebook skin irritation in some customers. The skin complaints first saw the light of day in December of last year, according to Facebook.
According to Facebook, it concerns a small number of customers who experienced skin irritation. However, this was apparently enough to temporarily halt international sales so that the silicone covers can be added to all packaging of the Oculus Quest 2. Current users of the Oculus Quest 2 and the Quest 2 Fit Pack can online request the silicone covers.
