Sabrent releases pci-e 4.0 ssd with a storage capacity of 4TB from 780 euros
Sabrent has introduced its Rocket Q4. This is a PCI-E 4.0 SSD with a storage capacity of up to 4TB. It is the first M2 SSD with PCI-E 4.0 interface to offer this capability. The ssd is currently for sale at some web shops from 780 euros.
The Rocket Q4 ssd’s are not yet listed on the Sabrent website. However, the SSDs have now appeared on the German version of Amazon . According to that listing, the Rocket Q4 offers sequential read and write speeds of 4900MB / s and 3500MB / s respectively when installed in a pci-e 4.0 slot. In combination with a pci-e 3.0 connection, the maximum speeds are 3300MB / s. Sabrent does not disclose arbitrary read and write speeds.
According to Wccftech , Sabrent reported that the SSDs use qlc-nand, just like the company’s current Rocket Q-pci-e 3.0 SSDs. It is still unclear which controller is used in the new SSDs. Sabrent previously released other pci-e 4.0 SSDs . They use tlc-nand and flash controllers from Phison, although these offer capacities of up to 2TB. The sequential speeds of these current SSDs are also higher at 5000MB / s and 4400MB / s when reading and writing.
Sabrent comes with two variants of the new Rocket Q4 SSD; a model with heatsink and a version without cooling. The latter costs 780.61 euros at Amazon , while the model with heat sink is for sale for 801.38 euros . The SSDs are in stock there, but are shipped from the US and cannot be shipped to addresses in the Benelux. The mentioned prices include import costs. A 2TB variant is for sale at the American Amazon for $ 320 . Converted and including VAT, this amounts to approximately 332.20 euros. The 2TB version will be released on August 15, according to Amazon.
