Saber Interactive Working On Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
There will be a Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The previous installment in the series came out in 2011 and was made by Relic. This time Saber Interactive is at the helm. A CG trailer of the game was shown this week during The Game Awards.
The game is expected to be a third-person shooter just like its predecessor. That predecessor also had a co-op mode in which teams had to fight off hordes of enemies, but whether such game modes will also end up in this new game is not clear at this point.
The trailer shows the Space Marines chapter Ultramarines landing on a battlefield and helping a group of soldiers from the Imperium out of a plight with some Tyranids. They use a certain amount of violence for Warhammer and the Space Marines. The end of the trailer gives the impression that this scene could play out countless more times on the planet in question.
Developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment do not give the game a release date in the trailer. They do report that the game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S and the PC. Saber has worked on the Halo and Crysis remasters and the Switch port of The Witcher 3 in the past, as well as recently taking over 3D Realms.
