Rumor: ZTE is coming with Axon Multy smartphone with two screens
Smartphone insider Evan Blass says ZTE and a US carrier will soon release a dual-screen smartphone. It concerns the Axon Multy, whose screens can be folded out and together form a 6.8 “screen.
Blass writes about the Axon Multy in an article on VentureBeat. He also has a logo of the device name on his Twitter account posted. According to the story, it is a device that has a screen on both the front and back when it is closed. The individual screens have a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
There would be a hinge on the side, so that the device can be opened. The two screens are then combined and the whole has a 6.8″ diagonal. The screen then has an almost square aspect ratio with a total resolution of 1920×2160 pixels. The Axon Multy would be no thicker than 1cm when folded.
According to the message, the phone will have a Snapdragon 820-soc, 4GB of ram and 32GB of storage. The battery has a capacity of 3120mAh and there is one camera with a 20-megapixel sensor. The device would be released in mid-October from the American provider AT&T for $650.
In 2011, the Kyocera Sprint was released in the US. That too was an Android smartphone with two screens that could be folded out with a hinge on the side. The Axon Multy is presumably made according to the same concept, but will probably have thinner screen bezels than the Kyocera device.
