Xiaomi would like to present its Mi 11 smartphone, the first model with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-soc, in two weeks. The phone should also hit the market soon after. Xiaomi presented the Mi 10 in February.

The presentation is scheduled for December 29, Gizmochina reports. The device could then go on sale on the same day; a previous rumor stated that sales would start before the end of the year. According to the rumors, it is only about the Mi 11 and not a more expensive Mi 11 Pro.

The phone would then be the first model with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888. The American chip designer announced this at the beginning of this month. It is the first high-end soc for smartphones with an integrated 5G modem. The soc further focuses on the combination with a camera with the addition of a triple image signal processor. There is also a Cortex X1 core for the first time and a more robust chip for AI-related calculations.

The Mi 11 would also have a screen that is deflected on four sides. On the back would be three cameras: a 108-megapixel sensor for the primary camera, with a 13-megapixel camera with ultra-wide-angle lens and a five-megapixel macro camera.

Xiaomi announced the Mi 10 phones in February. Xiaomi would not be the only one to bring forward the presentation of new models. Samsung would like to present the Galaxy S21 models in mid-January.
