Rumor: Xiaomi Mi 9 has depth sensor on the back
Xiaomi would put a depth sensor that works with time-of-flight to calculate the distance to objects on its Mi9 smartphone, according to a rumor from China. The phone is said to have a primary camera with a resolution of 48 megapixels.
The design is said to resemble the OnePlus 6T on the front and the Huawei P20 Pro on the back, says the Weibo user who posted the information online. He or she more often shows information from unannounced smartphones. The third lens on the back, in addition to the 48MP camera and 3d depth sensor, is a 12MP camera.
The phone can charge its 3500mAh battery with 32W, the information claims. The phone is said to be 155x75mm in size and 7.6mm thick. According to the information, the display is an OLED screen with a diagonal of 6.4 “and a resolution of 19:9. The phone is said to have a Snapdragon 855 from Qualcomm.
Xiaomi would like to release its Mi9 in March. That would be nine months after the Mi8, which came out at the beginning of last summer. If that’s true, Xiaomi would be announcing it soon. The manufacturer has an event planned, but it is rumored to show a Redmi Pro device there.
A video has also appeared online of what would be a foldable smartphone from Xiaomi. The device on Evan Blass’s video, also known as @evleaks, has the screen on the outside, like the Royole Flexpai presented a few months ago. However, this one has a fold on each side, which divides the ‘big screen’ into three planes when folded.
