Warner Bros. would be working on a fighting game like Super Smash Bros. works, including Batman and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo as playable characters. That’s what an anonymous Reddit user claims. Game journalist Jeff Grubb confirms the rumor.

According to the Reddit post, the game will be a “crossover platformer” based on Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series. The game will feature multiple characters from Warner Bros. franchises such as Shaggy, Gandalf, Tom & Jerry, Batman, Fred Flintstone, Mad Max, and Johnny Bravo. The user also claims that Harry Potter characters were in development, but that they may have been removed for rights reasons.

The Reddit user goes on to say that the game is made by NetherRealm, the developer of the recent Mortal Kombat games and the Injustice series, among others. Game journalist Jeff Grubb confirms existence on Twitter of the Warner Bros. fighting game, but does state that the game is not made by NetherRealm.

The name of the game is still unclear, although Warner Bros. registered the trademark ‘Multiversus’ last month. The Reddit user says he cannot confirm that this will actually be the name of the game. It is also not clear when the game will be revealed. However, it is said in the Reddit message that the game has been in development for a while and that the announcement should not be long in coming.
