Rumor: Ubisoft working on new Prince of Persia game
Ubisoft may be working on a new Prince of Persia game in addition to the Sands of Time remake that has already been announced. Sources report this to reliable leaker Tom Henderson. The company is also said to be working on an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel.
Henderson writes in an article on Xfire that Ubisoft is currently working on twenty games, many of which have already been announced. For example, the studio is working on live service title Assassin’s Creed Infinity, a new Mario + Rabbids game and Beyond Good and Evil 2. However, the leaker also talks about several unannounced games.
For example, Tom Henderson reports that Ubisoft is making a new Prince of Persia game. According to sources familiar with Ubisoft’s plans, it will be a “2.5d” game separate from the Sands of Time remake. The studio is said to have been inspired by Moon Studios’ Ori series for that game. It is not known when this title will be released, Henderson writes.
Ubisoft Quebec is also said to be making a sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising. According to Henderson’s sources, the game is still in an early development stage. The leaker also talks about Assassin’s Creed Rift. There have been rumors about this before, coming from Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. It would be a smaller Assassin’s Creed game, which focuses on stealth. Henderson states that the game will probably be released in the first half of 2023. Furthermore, the leaker writes that there will be a third The Crew game, which may be announced later this year.
According to Henderson, Ubisoft will hold a “big showcase” later this year, where the company will announce some of its upcoming games. It is not yet known when that event will take place. Maybe it’s a new Ubisoft Forward, an event that Ubisoft has been holding annually since 2020. Henderson does not confirm that.
