Rumor: The Creative Assembly is working on Total War: Rome 2
Judging by a teaser from an Australian PC gaming magazine, development studio The Creative Assembly looks set to announce Total War: Rome 2 soon. The studio will speak about the future of the franchise in England on July 6 and 7.
Australia’s largest PC gaming magazine, PC PowerPlay, which previously first correctly predicted the announcement of a PC version of Dark Souls, has included a page in its July 18 issue that seems to hint at the arrival of a new version. of Rome: Total War. The screenshot in the teaser is from that game, while the Roman numeral II seems to indicate a successor. This would give Rome: Total War the same treatment as Shogun: Total War received with its successor Total War: Shogun 2.
Whether the announcement will not be made until the Australian magazine appears on July 18, remains to be seen. On July 6 and 7, the PC and indie game conference Rezzed will take place in Brighton, England. The Creative Assembly will be there and will discuss the future of the Total War franchise. That would be a logical stage for the eventual announcement of Total War: Rome 2.
The Creative Assembly and publisher Sega have not yet commented on the rumors. The companies released the Fall of the Samurai expansion for Total War: Shogun 2 last spring. It is not known what The Creative Assembly would then work on.
