Rumor: Surface Go 2 coming in spring with thinner bezels and Core m3
Microsoft is reportedly planning to release a new Surface Go tablet this spring. This one would have a slightly larger screen, but the same dimensions as the first Go, which is possible by making the screen edges narrower.
By narrowing the screen edges on the Go 2, the screen can be enlarged somewhat while the dimensions can remain the same, Windows Central writes. This means that accessories for the first Surface Go, such as the keyboard, can also be used for the second generation. When the Surface Go 2 will appear exactly, Windows Central will not announce. The previous one appeared in July 2018.
Not only is the screen slightly larger, but the resolution would also increase, from 1800×1200 to 1920×1280 pixels. The processor is slightly more powerful in the standard model; the tablet gets the Intel 4425Y where the previous one had the 4415Y. In addition, however, comes a configuration with a more powerful Core m3-8100Y and this variant gets 8GB of ram, an SSD of 128GB and an optional 4G modem.
The starting price of the standard model of the Go 2 would be identical to that of the first Go. In the Benelux that was 449 euros. That is for the version with Pentium Gold 4425Y, 4GB ram and 64GB emmc storage. It is not yet known in the rumor circuit what the more expensive version with Core m3 will cost.
