Rumor: StarCraft 1 remaster coming this spring
According to a South Korean esports website, Blizzard will release a remaster of StarCraft 1 in May or June. The website draws on sources from the games industry and states that an official announcement may be coming next week.
SportsSeoul sources say Blizzard is preparing a major event for the game’s release in the spring. At an earlier date, possibly next week, the company is said to be announcing the game and reveal details about its content.
According to South Korean website, StarCraft 1 remaster will get better graphics and Battle.net support. The content of the game would otherwise be the same as the original game from 1998. The website also states that more details were announced about the remaster during BlizzCon last November. That presentation would have been accessible only to a number of parties broadcasting esports competitions, sponsors and stakeholders involved in the testing.
Last year there was already a rumor about the arrival of an HD version of StarCraft. Then it was reported that the game would be announced in September 2016, but that turned out not to be the case.
