Rumor: Sony Xperia 5 II has 120Hz OLED screen
Sony would like to equip its Xperia 5 II with a 120Hz OLED screen, Android Headlines claims. This would make it the first phone from the Japanese manufacturer with a screen that has a higher refresh rate.
Sony has equipped its phones with 60Hz displays so far, but the Xperia 5 II will get a 120Hz display with a sampling rate of 240Hz, Android Headlines says. It is an OLED screen with an aspect ratio of 21: 9 and a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels. The diagonal is 6.1 “.
The phone will be 158x68x8mm and, according to the site, is a fraction thinner than the predecessor that was released last year. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-soc with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage. The battery has a capacity of 4000mAh and can charge via the USB PD standard.
In terms of camera, the set-up seems similar to the Xperia 1 II that appeared earlier this year, with 12-megapixel cameras with telephoto, wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle. The site confirms that the device will get a 3.5mm jack, unlike its predecessor. The phone can record in 4k at 120fps, the site says. Sony would like to present the phone on September 17, in three weeks. A first render of the phone appeared earlier this week.
