Rumor: Sony Unveils Oculus Rift Competitor for PS4 in March
Sony’s virtual reality headset may be unveiled in March at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. In addition, there are rumors that Sony will reveal a number of virtual reality games at E3 in June.
The message comes from TechRadar, which relies on an anonymous source who says they have tried the headset themselves. This source states that the headset is almost ready to be unveiled and that the quality and resolution are “very, very good”. “People will be impressed with what Sony has made.”
Sony has already made video glasses for the PlayStation 3, but in games they lose out to the Oculus Rift. The developers of the crowdfunded Oculus Rift have themselves previously stated that they thought the Xbox One and PS4 “too limited” for what they are up to with the Oculus Rift. This seems to be the only option for the time being to play virtual reality games on the PlayStation 4. Nothing is known about a virtual reality headset for the Xbox One.
