Rumor: Samsung will release Galaxy S21 FE, Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 in August
Samsung would consider releasing multiple phones at once in August. The manufacturer would then like to release the Galaxy S21 FE, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3. That is earlier than Samsung normally does.
Samsung is considering releasing the phones at the end of August, sources tell South Korean news agency Yonhap. The company then plans to release both the new Galaxy S phone and the two foldable phones, the Z Fold3 and the Z Flip3. The phones would then all three come out at the same time.
With this, Samsung would maintain a different release schedule than with previous models. The Galaxy S20 FE came out in October last year and the earlier Z Fold2 appeared in September. The first Z Flip came out in February. No Z Flip2 has appeared, but according to previous rumors, Samsung wants to equalize the numbering of the Z Fold and Z Flip phones.
According to Yonhap sources, Samsung would not want to release a Galaxy Note device this year. That confirms statements made earlier this year by co-CEO Koh Dong-Jin. He said the company was considering not releasing a Note model this year due to persistent chip shortages. By releasing the Galaxy S and Z models earlier, Samsung would like to fill the gap that the Note series leaves behind. The Note phones usually came out around late August or early September.
Rumors had previously shown that the company’s foldable phones would have smaller batteries than their predecessors. A leaked roadmap would also show that Samsung wanted to release the phones earlier.
