The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 may have a larger battery than its predecessor. This is apparent from information and photos from an inspection service, which show the battery capacity of an unannounced Samsung wearable.

The inspection was noticed by SamMobile. The photos from an inspection service show a battery with a capacity of 276mAh. The battery is referred to as ‘eb-br900aby’ and is said to be intended for the SM-R900 model of the Galaxy Watch5, the news website writes. That should be the replacement of the current Galaxy Watch4 40mm, which has a 247mAh battery. The battery capacity of the new model would thus increase by approximately 11 percent.

It is not known what the battery capacity of the larger Galaxy Watch5 model will be, but it will probably also increase slightly. The 44mm variant of the current Galaxy Watch4 has a battery capacity of 361mAh.

Earlier reports state that Samsung will start mass production of its new smartwatches in the third quarter of 2022, SamMobile also writes. The wearable would be announced in August or September. According to rumors, the Galaxy Watch5 will include a sensor with which users can measure their body temperature.
