Samsung would consider delaying the presentation of its next flagship Galaxy S8 for a few months. For example, the company would take more time to work out all the details of the device. Top executives are considering making the announcement in April next year.

For the past three years, Samsung has shown its Galaxy S phone on the eve of the Mobile World Congress telecom fair in Barcelona. That would fall on February 25 next year. Samsung has made the announcement of Galaxy S devices more often later in the year. For example, it introduced the Galaxy S4 in mid-March 2013 and announced the Galaxy S III in early May 2012.

The manufacturer is also testing whether there should be a separate button for its own digital assistant, writes business newspaper The Wall Street Journal. That button should be on the side of the device and highlight the function, according to the newspaper. It has been clear for some time that the South Korean smartphone maker wants to put the recently purchased digital assistant Viv in the Galaxy S8.

It looks like Samsung is considering the Bixby name for its digital assistant. The manufacturer wanted to register that brand name in South Korea, Europe and the United States, among others. The application states that Bixby is a mobile application for ‘personal information management’.

Samsung has since apologized extensively in American newspapers for the fiasco surrounding the exploding Galaxy Note 7, Korea Herald reports. With the letter of apology, the manufacturer tries to regain the violated consumer confidence. The ad states that the electronics maker is still investigating the cause of the explosions with Note 7s.
