Rumor: Samsung has modified Galaxy Note 5 after stylus complaints

Samsung is said to have put a mechanism in the Galaxy Note 5 that allows the stylus to spring back if the user puts it in the wrong way into the housing. It would be a part that is added and not a modified design.

A photo from Android fan site Phandroid shows the two versions of the Note 5 side by side. The new variant shows a white part that replaces a much smaller black mechanism to return the pen springs. According to the anonymous source of the Android site, the system functions well.

Shortly after the release of the Note 5 last fall, it emerged that putting the stylus back in reverse could cause damage. If the stylus is inserted upside down, the removal will ‘probably succeed’, but there is a chance that the system detecting the stylus will break. If that mechanism is broken, the smartphone does not ‘know’ whether the stylus is in it or not and the associated software features no longer work. Samsung’s response was an advice to users to read the manual.

The Note 5 will not be released in the Benelux, because Europeans use the stylus to a limited extent, according to Samsung. Instead, Samsung comes with the Galaxy S6 Edge+, which does not have a stylus.
