Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S7 Active has 4000mAh battery
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will get a 4000mAh battery, it is rumored. The current S6 Active has a 3500mAh battery and it seems that the South Korean manufacturer continues to distinguish the Active line with large batteries. The device will probably not be released in the Benelux.
The type number and all other information indicate that Samsung makes the S7 Active for the American provider AT&T, writes ‘smartphone nice’ EvLeaks on Venturebeat. In recent years, EvLeaks has an almost flawless track record of information and images from unannounced smartphones.
With a 4000mAh battery, the S7 Active is equipped with a larger battery than the regular S7, which has a 3000mAh battery. The larger S7 Edge with 5.5″ screen has a 3600mAh battery. The Active is the ‘sturdy’ version of the S7, but shares many specifications with the American variant of that device, including the 5.1″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, the Snapdragon 820-soc from Qualcomm, assisted by a memory the size of 4GB. The camera with a maximum resolution of twelve megapixels also corresponds to the regular S7. At 9.9 mm and 185 grams, it is thicker and heavier than the regular S7 and its predecessor S6 Active.
The phone will also be dust and waterproof, but the regular S7 already is. The outside does seem to have an impact-resistant housing, in contrast to the metal edge and glass back of the S7. The device would be released in the United States on June 10, where a release in the Benelux does not seem to be forthcoming for the time being.
